What to do after completing 1095-Cs

Steps for employers 

You've gone through the pain of completing your 1094-C and 1095-Cs and the deadline to file and distribute is quickly approaching. What should you do to make sure you deliver the right documents to the proper location?

Here is everything you need to know about staying compliant in your distribution and filing oforms 1094-C and 1095-C:

Distribute 1095-Cs to employees

Acceptable Distribution Channels

  • Mail
  • Hand delivery
  • Email (if prior consent given)

File with the IRS

You can file your forms 1094-C and 1095-C through mail or through e-filing. All ALE members reporting on 250+ employees must e-file. Bernard Health can assist with mailing and e-filing services through BerniePortal.

Mailing Tips

  • Use First-Class Mail
  • Do not fold forms (use flat mailing)
  • Do not paper clip or staple the forms together
  • If you are sending many forms, use conveniently-size packages

Note: If using convenient-sized packages, write your name, number the packages consecutively, and place Form 1094-C in package number one.
